It's the first day of Autumn, the first day of March, the first day of uni for a lot of people. What a nice start to the month, the weather is so cooling and cloudy- perfect autumn weather. My cats just caught a mouse and left it lying at our doorstep at the back... and Scary is still playing with it. Gross kitties...

It's finally tomorrow, my first day of uni at a completely unknown and new campus, with completely new people with whom I've only met once, and starting a course that I hope will be what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. Who knows though, haha. Before that though, new post for March!

From Week 9, 2010
Looks like Azuma was early in starting their Autumn cake collections. We went there last week and they had new cakes on display. With two to choose from, I decided not to even choose and get them both. This was their chestnut mousse cake, done creme caramel style with a layer of liquid caramel at the bottom of the mousse. Very nicely done~

From Week 9, 2010
Along with a green tea latte. It was a bit hot for warm drinks, but cakes were meant to counter that. We sat at Azuma for about an hour or so doing homework because I had an Orientation Day where I had to hand in some stuff...

From Week 9, 2010
This was their Brown Sugar mousse cake. Tt thought this was the grossest thing he's ever eaten, I thought it was OK, but then I was too full to finish this all by myself =( It didn't taste all that bad, it's just brown sugar mousse really.... doesn't look very pretty though, so I can understand when tt said it's like vomit. I don't think we'll be getting this one again, haha.

From Week 9, 2010
Before Azuma, we actually had lunch at TonTon, which is right next to Azuma. That place seems to be dominated by Azuma, because TonTon is a branch of Azuma, just not as high class. Treat it as "commoner's Azuma", whereas Azuma Patisserie is the place for desserts, and Azuma itself is for the higher end Japanese dining. When TonTon first opened, we visited it for ramen and it didn't appeal to us. Now we decided to give it another try- like Poporo, they've changed the menu, but this time, it was for the better. Very interesting dishes sold, this was their Natsu Mabou Don- Eggplant Mabou with rice. REALLY nice!!!

From Week 9, 2010
This on the other hand... other people might like it, but to me, it was horrible. It's ramen with garlic sauce, and I can't stand garlic, especially not concentrated garlic paste on ramen. Poor tt finished this for me after I had a chopstick full. I'm sorry!! =(

From Week 9, 2010
Gyoza~ this was quite nice. With the salad, they put vinegar as the dressing, which makes perfect sense because gyoza goes well with vinegar too.

From Week 9, 2010
That night was the night of fireworks for Chinese New Year at Darling Harbour. We met up with my brother and his cosplay friends to have dinner at Sushi Rio. We've established that Sushi Rio has really good handrolls, so we just ordered that. This was their crispy salmon skin handroll =D Also ordered salmon and avocado, scallops and omelette, soft shell crab... really nice.

From Week 9, 2010
Usual day before work... I had an avocado chicken cheese sandwich while reading some pre-semester notes. Usually it's asparagus, but changes sometime.

From Week 9, 2010
Not too long ago, we were walking along Darlinghurt when tt said there was a chocolate shop nearby. At 147 William st. Darlinghurst, is Kakawa, which is an ancient Olmec word for cocoa beans. It's really just a tiny shop that looks more like an art gallery than a chocolatier.

From Week 9, 2010
We bought about 5 of their chocolates, which cost about $1.80 each. Very interesting flavours though, my favourite being their Blueberry and Yoghurt chocolate. It really did taste like blueberry yoghurt!! XD I think we also tried their passionfruit and mango, apple, raspberry... and I cannot remember, their site doesn't show all their collection of chocolates, but they were good! Will have to go back there to try their hot chocolate and ice cream cookie sometime... when we have time... =( that's not going to be anytime soon I suspect...

And I'm drowning myself in sorrow as my holiday draws to an end. In an hour's time, I have to go to work too. What's with the gloomy weather =( *drastic change of mood since beginning of entry*

Hm, I usually eat (and like) anything, but i'm pretty sure something was wrong with that mousse >_> Though I can really go for that fried eggplant again =D

And, I'm sure you'll have fun at uni, don't worry~
